The Second Week of School
We started Unit 1 Aa Bb Cc in the second week. To begin with, I drew to have kids guess which alphabet embedded in the pics. Then I demonstrated the alphabets one by one. After reading loudly, We together acted out the alphabets. Finally, kids did the alphabets worksheet. In the second class, I demonstrated words for every alphabet. Then kids glued phonics chart on their books.
Make it a class routin
Having a class routine can have kids focus on class quickly and effectively. I usually start a class by having kids sing a Hello song, greeting them, practicing class order and declaring class rules. By encouraging them review the lesson, I sometimes ask them whether or not they listen to CD at home.

Back-to-school
First, Jen decided a class leader to give orders to begin the class. (orders: stand up, attention, bow)
Second, Jen decided a little helper for every row to help give out the workbooks.
Third,Ss wrote their class, number, name, and teacher's name on their new books.
Fourth, Jen declared her class rules and reward system. (be quiet, look and listen, raise your hand)
Fifth, Jen had Ss practice class orders. (1,2,eyes on me. 3,4,eyes on you. Class, yes. Class, class, yes, yes.)
Sixth, Ss sang routine songs. (hello, this is the way.., goodbye)
Finally, Ss took out their blank worksheet to draw themselves and wrote "I am....".
